WHAT is The Winter Athlete Programme?

The Winter Athlete Programme is a 12-week strength and conditioning programme, designed to help develop the key athletic qualities you need to excel in the mountains this season.

 

The programme is completed remotely, and is delivered in 3, 4 and 5-day training splits, which include total body strength and power sessions, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning sessions, and rest and mobility protocols. 

 

All of which are delivered to an easy to use, mobile friendly app, complete with video demonstrations and detailed exercise notes, providing everything you need to stay on track and progressing towards your season’s training goals!

WHY does The Winter Athlete Programme exist?

The Winter Athlete Programme was designed to offer mountain athletes a high quality and professional level coaching service, that provides a systemised and evidence-based approach for building the strength, power and endurance necessary to maximise performance and minimise the potential of injury in the mountains this season.

WHO is the Winter Athlete Programme for?

The Winter Athlete Programme is for motivated athletes of all abilities, who are serious about their time in the mountains and who want to remove the guess work from their training so they can focus only on what really matters...

 

Training for the mountains is not a straightforward process. Unlike conventional sports, the environments we play in change continuously. Which makes it confusing to know where we need to spend our training time and what qualities we should be trying to develop.

 

In amongst all this noise, it can become very difficult to determine the best way forward. As realistically, to perform at our best and minimise our chance of injury, we need a little bit of everything...

 

We need to have strong and powerful legs to move us uphill, and sustain high energy runs on the way down. We also need to be able to withstand and tolerate forces at high speeds, we also need to be able to produce force at high speeds. We need to be mobile, we need to be agile...

 

Trying to incorporate all of these things can make training for the mountains a complicated process.

 

The Winter Athlete Programme was designed to take away the noise of designing your own programme and provide a simple and streamline training experience for those who are serious about their time in the mountains and who want to get the most from their winter season.
