The Youth Athlete Programme (ages 11-16 years) focuses on helping young athletes increase strength, build confidence and become more resilient through dynamic, skill-based Strength and Conditioning training. Our programme emphasises long-term athletic development with a focus on foundational movement skills and age appropriate developmental progression, helping prepare young athletes for success in sports and in life, all while partnering with parents for ongoing support and guidance.

Long Term Athletic Development
Long-Term Athletic Development (LTAD) is a systematic approach to athletic progression, emphasising the gradual development of physical, mental, and technical skills from childhood through to adulthood. Strength and conditioning plays a key role in LTAD, and when conducted by a qualified and experienced practitioner, provides a foundation of movement quality, strength and physical literacy that has been shown to help mitigate injury risk in youth populations (READ THE PAPER HERE), allowing athletes to safely and effectively progress through sport-specific training as they mature.

Despite these benefits, at Momentum training we understand that navigating the landscape of youth training can be difficult for parents. With concerns regarding the safety of strength training and fears over whether it may harm growth or development, the specialised nature of athletic development training, and simply trying to consolidate the overwhelming volume of information that is available, it can be difficult to know where to go, and what to do. This combination makes finding a practitioner you trust with your child's training extremely daunting, especially if you have already had a negative experience in the past.
That is why we at Momentum Training aim to work with you, the parent, to provide ongoing support, guidance and resources, to help inform and educate on the benefits of strength and conditioning for young athletes, all within a high-level training system that has been developed across 10+ years of experience working with youth athlete populations.

We listen to each athlete’s individual needs and design a training programme specific to them and their lifestyle. Our programmes have been tested by recreational, elite, professional and Olympic and Paralympic level athletes...so you know you're in good hands.

Programme design and prescription is driven my objective data and evidence-based practice and training principles.
If you aren't assessing, you're guessing. Our Youth Performance Programme takes advantage of the latest research and technology available to offer elite-level of service, to continuously monitor performance, pinpoint areas of opportunity and optimise goal setting and programming.

Develop new levels of athleticism that transfer directly to your sport.
Our programmes have been tested by athletes competing in a variety of sports, ranging from football, golf, tennis and rugby, to surfing, mountain biking, freestyle skiing and triathlon. Whatever your child's sport, our programme will develop the capacity and resiliency required for them to feel confident when it matters most.

Stronger youth athletes can withstand higher forces than their weaker counterparts, which means weaker athletes are predisposed to a higher risk of injury in sport. Partner with a Strength and Conditioning expert with over 10 years of experience coaching youth athletes and creating athletic development programmes for sports clubs and schools, in both grassroots and high-performance settings. Our 1:1, in-person training delivery ensures our experienced coaching staff oversee every aspect of every session, so you can be confident your child's safety is assured and their training is in good hands.

We will send out our Momentum Training Intake Form. Fill it out and return.

With 48 hours, we will be in touch to set up a Consultation Call.

Onboarding

We will email onboarding instructions to you. Download the app and finalise profile set up.
